Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Puget Sound through the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and the Lake Washington Ship Canal, about 2.5 NM east of the locks. No tidal constraint once through the locks: Lake Union is held at a fresh-water level around 6 metres above the sound. The waterfront sits just east of the Aurora Bridge.
Practical
61 berths, covered and uncovered. Shore power, fresh water, heads with showers, and a pump-out station on site. No fuel berth at the marina. Phone 206-547-1654.
Ashore
Gas Works Park is a 15-minute walk west along the Burke-Gilman Trail, on the site of a 1906 coal gasification plant kept as industrial sculpture. Fremont shops and restaurants are about 1.5 km west across the bridge.
