Approach and anchoring
Access from Puget Sound through the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks at Ballard, then 2 NM east along the Lake Washington Ship Canal. No tidal restriction once above the locks; Lake Union holds at about 6 m above sea level. Westlake Avenue runs along the shore as a landmark from the lake.
Practical
Open and covered berths from 3 m to 30 m. Shore power 30 and 50 amp, fresh water, heads, showers, laundry, kayak storage and lockers. Delicatessen and grocery on site. Part of the Boatworld group, which has run seven marinas on Lake Union and Portage Bay since 1982.
Ashore
South Lake Union neighbourhood within walking distance, with cafes and restaurants along Westlake Avenue. Museum of History and Industry at 860 Terry Avenue N, 1 km south on the lake shore. Lake Union Park and the Centre for Wooden Boats at the southern tip of the lake, 1.4 km on foot.
