Full-service marina on Glen Cove Creek inside Hempstead Harbour, on the north shore of Long Island, New York.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter Hempstead Harbour from Long Island Sound and round east into Glen Cove Creek. The marina sits well inside the creek, sheltered from Sound swell. Approach depths suit most cruising yachts; the largest berths take vessels to about 21 metres.
Practical
550 berths on floating pontoons with a small number of transient berths. Fuel berth with diesel and petrol, 30 and 50 amp shore power, fresh water, pump-out, heads, showers and laundry. There is a swimming pool, and an on-site service yard with riggers and mechanics.
History
Glen Cove was a centre of Gold Coast yachting; the New York Yacht Club kept an early clubhouse here around the turn of the twentieth century.
