Approach and anchoring
Approached from central San Francisco Bay along the Alameda shoreline. VHF channel 16 for the harbour master's office. The marina sits on Ballena Bay, off the West End of Alameda Island.
Practical
A 52-acre site with around 504 berths for boats from roughly 24 to 105 feet. There is a fuel berth, a pump-out, fresh water, shore power and a ship store. The waterside restaurant Pier 29 is on the site.
Ashore
Downtown Oakland is about 10 minutes away by car and San Francisco about 25 minutes. Crown Memorial State Beach, on the southern shore of Alameda, is within a short drive for walking and birdwatching along the bay.
