History
Founded in 1890, Encinal is the third oldest yacht club on San Francisco Bay. The original clubhouse stood at the end of a 300 metre pier off Grand Street, on Alameda's south shore. After the city filled the south shore foreshore in the late 1950s, the club rebuilt at the present Marina Village site in 1960.
