- Harbour
Small drying harbour on the north shore of the Daoulas river, in the Rade de Brest, commune of Loperhet.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Rade de Brest via the buoyed channel leading into the Daoulas estuary. The harbour dries at low water, so entry is timed around high water. Watch for oyster beds marked by withies on either side of the channel. Shelter is good from all quarters once inside.
Practical
Moorings on buoys managed locally, no pontoons for visitors. No fuel, no chandlery on site. Water tap on the slip. Nearest shops in Loperhet village, about 3 km uphill from the harbour.
Ashore
Coastal footpath along the Daoulas river towards Moulin Mer at 2.6 nm SE. Village of Daoulas with its 12th century abbey and medicinal garden, 2.8 nm east by water or about 6 km by road. Rade de Brest cycling routes pass near the commune.
