Approach and anchoring

Enter along the centreline of the cut from the Intracoastal Waterway, as shoals are building from both shores. Once inside, depths of 8 to 10 feet are easy to find on a sand and mud bottom with good holding. Shelter is given on all sides.

Practical

No facilities at the anchorage, but stores and supplies are within reach ashore. A public boat ramp at New Smyrna Beach is within a quarter mile. Lighthouse Marina and Sea Love Boatyard & Marina lie about 1.1 and 1.3 miles N.

Ashore

Disappearing Island, a sandbar that emerges at low water, sits close by and is a popular spot to land a tender. Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, one of the tallest in Florida, stands on the north side of the inlet with a museum at its base.
