Approach and anchoring
Live Oak Point sits on the Halifax River, the name the ICW takes through this section, a short run north of Ponce Inlet. Anchor over sand. The river carries tidal current, so allow scope. Inlet Harbor Marina lies 0.4 miles to the east and Harbour Village Marina 0.6 miles to the north.
Practical
No facilities at the anchorage. Sand bottom with good holding. The anchorage is sheltered from a broad arc, from west round through north and east to south. Inlet Harbor Marina and Harbour Village Marina, both within a mile, offer fuel, berths and provisions.
Ashore
A 41-acre town park runs from the Atlantic to the Halifax River, with a boardwalk through the wetlands and the Green Mound archaeological site, an ancient shell midden. The Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, the tallest in Florida, stands a short distance south.
