Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Pertuis Breton, keeping clear of the bridge piles and the Chauveau cardinal mark on the south side of the crossing. Sand bottom with generally good holding. Shelter from NW through S to SE; fully exposed to the E and NE across the Pertuis.
Practical
Port de Rivedoux at 0.2 NM SE offers a tidal harbour that dries at low water. La Flotte en Re at 2.3 NM NW has a wet basin with lock and more visitor capacity.
Ashore
Long sandy beach fronting the village, bakeries and small shops along avenue des Dames within 300 m of the landing. Cycle path of the Ile de Re loop runs behind the beach, with Saint-Martin-de-Re and its Vauban fortifications listed by UNESCO at 8 km west.
