Approach and anchoring
Entry from Charlotte Harbor, one of the largest sheltered bays on Florida's Gulf coast, with over 129 square miles of protected water. The Peace River channel leads to the town's two main marinas. No Gulf transit needed for inland cruising.
Practical
Two marinas in town: Laishley Park Municipal Marina with 85 slips and a public boat launch, and Fishermen's Village Marina with 111 slips taking vessels up to 60 ft. Showers and heads at Laishley Park. West Marine chandlery in town.
Ashore
The town is laid out around a 55-mile residential canal system with backyard slips. Downtown shops and restaurants are within walking distance of both marinas. King Fisher Fleet runs sightseeing cruises from Fishermen's Village.
