Approach and anchoring
The dock sits on the strong tidal flow of the Piscataqua, where the stream reaches 4 to 5 knots. Time arrival and departure for slack water. The dockmaster monitors VHF 09 and asks for advance notice of arrivals. Berths take vessels up to 17 metres.
Practical
There is 30 amp shore power and restrooms, but no showers, laundry or pumpout. Transient stays are limited to 72 hours and no rafting is allowed. Booking is through Dockwa or by phone. The waterfront shops and restaurants of downtown Portsmouth are a short walk away.
Ashore
The dock is set against Prescott Park, a riverside park with formal gardens and fountains. The Prescott Park Arts Festival runs through the summer with outdoor theatre and music. Strawbery Banke, an open-air museum of restored 17th to 19th century houses, is next to the park.
