Approach and anchoring
Approach from the rade de Brest side, rounding the Pointe du Grand Gouin. Sand bottom, good holding in settled weather. Shelter from SE through S to SW. Fully exposed to swell from the north and west sectors of the Iroise sea.
Practical
No facilities. Camaret-sur-Mer harbour lies 0.7 nm east, Port Vauban 0.9 nm east for berths, water, diesel and shops.
Ashore
Walk to the Tour Vauban at Camaret, classified UNESCO world heritage as part of the Vauban fortifications network since 2008. Alignements de Lagatjar, a neolithic standing stone site, at roughly 1.5 km from the anchorage.
