Guide

Approach and anchoring

Entrance from the sea through the Barcarès grau, then passage across the lagoon. Shallow draught along the channel. Tramontane blows hard from the northwest and can build short steep chop on the lagoon.

Practical

Water and electricity at the pontoons. Coudalère marina 0.4 nm northwest and Port Barcarès 1 nm southeast offer the main technical services and fuel berth.

Ashore

Sand beach of Le Barcarès on the seaward side of the lido, around 500 m east across the strip. Le Lydia, a passenger liner grounded on the beach in 1967 and turned into a landmark, sits 1.5 km north on the foreshore.
