River port on the Rhône at Massignieu-de-Rives in Ain, on the Lac de Virignin reach upstream of the Champagneux dam, between Belley and Yenne.

Approach and anchoring
Access by the Rhône, navigable for pleasure craft on the Savières canal and Lac du Bourget branch. Current weak on this impounded reach, usually under 0.5 kn. Basin entrance on the north bank, depth around 2 m. Upstream passage blocked by the Champagneux dam with no lock for pleasure, downstream lock at Chautagne.
Practical
Small river port with pontoons, water and electricity on the berths. No fuel pump on site. Shops at Belley 8 km north, bakery at Massignieu-de-Rives village 1 km uphill.
Ashore
ViaRhôna cycle route runs along the left bank of the Rhône and passes 300 m from the pontoons, linking Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean. Lac du Bourget reachable through the Savières canal and the lock at Chanaz, 15 km by water. Vineyards of Bugey AOC on the surrounding hills.
