Approach and anchoring
The lac du Bourget is the largest natural lake entirely in France, 18 km long. Approach from the south along the main axis; the Chindrieux basin opens into the Chautagne marshes to the north. Bottom is algae and weed, holding requires a second set on the anchor.
Practical
No services at anchor. Port de Plaisance de Chindrieux is 0.2 nm W with pontoons, water and ramp. Port de Conjux lies 1.3 nm W. Waterway links the lake to the Rhône via the canal de Savières at the north end.
Ashore
Abbaye royale de Hautecombe on the opposite shore, burial site of the House of Savoy, reachable by road or lake shuttle. Chautagne wetland birdwatching reserve directly north of the anchorage. Chindrieux village centre 600 m from the port with bakery and small grocery.
