Approach and anchoring
Enter the Auray river from the Gulf of Morbihan and branch east into the Bono river at the confluence. The channel dries in part at low water of spring tides. Pick up a buoy on mud. Sheltered from N through E to SE, exposed to westerly winds funnelling down the river. VHF 9.
Practical
Dinghy ashore at Le Bono, 0.4 nautical miles to the NE, where a bakery, grocery and restaurants are in the village. Auray Saint-Goustan, a tidal port with visitor pontoons, is 1.6 nautical miles to the NW.
History
The bridge is named after Joseph Le Brix, born in Baden in 1899, naval aviator who completed the first non-stop crossing of the South Atlantic by air with Dieudonné Costes in 1927.
