Approach and anchoring
Approach from Perros-Guirec or Ploumanac'h, heading roughly 5 NM north-west to the archipelago. Anchor off Île aux Moines in settled weather. Exposed to N and NW, untenable with any swell from the open Channel. Landing is allowed only on Île aux Moines, other islands are strictly off-limits as a nature reserve.
Practical
No services on site. Nearest shelter is Port-Blanc pontoon 0.4 NM west and Port Lagaden 1.2 NM east for a return to harbour.
Ashore
Île aux Moines has a lighthouse dating from 1835 and Vauban's fort, visitable on foot. LPO bird reserve with the only French breeding colony of northern gannets, around 20 000 pairs, plus puffins and guillemots. Ranger-guided paths only, other islands forbidden to landing.
