Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north in settled weather, keeping clear of the drying rocks extending east of the headland. Sand bottom holds well. Use at low water springs with caution, the shoreline dries widely. The anchorage is exposed to E to N swell and should be vacated before any onshore shift.
Practical
No services on site. Nearest shelter is Saint-Malo Port Vauban 2.5 NM to the SW, then Les Sablons marina 3 NM SW. Landing by tender is awkward in swell against the rocks.
Ashore
GR 34 coastal path runs along the headland above the anchorage, linking Rothéneuf beach 1 km east to Saint-Malo intra-muros 4 km SW. Rochers Sculptés de Rothéneuf, a cliff carved by abbé Fouré between 1894 and 1910, sit above the eastern side of the point.
