Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north via the channel between the Rocher de Cancale and the coast. Mud bottom, holding is reliable once the anchor is dug in. Shelter from NW and W winds only; the anchorage is exposed to E and SE swell coming across the bay.
Practical
No infrastructure at the mooring. Port de Cancale lies 0.2 NM west with fuel, water and a capitainerie. Port Picain sits 1.1 NM north as a tidal alternative.
Ashore
Walk 10 min along the GR34 coastal path to reach the oyster stalls of the Cale de la Houle in Cancale, open daily. Restaurants along the Port de la Houle quay. Mont-Saint-Michel bay viewpoint at the Pointe du Grouin 4 km north.
