Approach and anchoring
Reached from Buzzards Bay through Pocasset Harbour, southeast of Mashnee Island and a short run from the Cape Cod Canal western entrance. The river channel is narrow and best taken near high water. Berths handle boats up to about 30ft.
Practical
Run by the Town of Bourne, with the dock set directly against a car park. Seasonal fee around 92 dollars per foot plus an annual waterways permit. Day-to-day management is handled from Taylor Point Marina, the town office on the canal.
Story
Pocasset is one of three temporary anchorages, with Megansett and Wild Harbor, used by boats waiting on the tide for a fair current through the Cape Cod Canal.
