Small boatyard at Squeteague Harbor in Cataumet village, Bourne, on the eastern shore of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Squeteague Harbor lies off Megansett Harbor on the east side of Buzzards Bay. The harbour and its channel are shallow, so it suits smaller craft drawing little. Carry the tide on entry and keep to the marked channel. The bottom is soft mud.
Practical
The yard handles engine repair, hauling, shrink-wrapping, bottom painting and winter storage, with work on Mercruiser sterndrives and inboards. It services boats and trailers rather than running transient berths. Open Tuesday to Friday, closed at weekends.
Ashore
Squeteague Harbor Beach sits at the head of the harbour, a calm shallow spot in Cataumet village. Shops and provisions are in Cataumet around Route 28A. Red Brook Harbour, with larger marinas, is a short hop to the north.
