Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach through the Anse de Kernic requires care on a rising tide. The bay dries extensively at low water and entry is generally possible within two to three hours of high water. Rocks and sand banks line both sides of the channel. VHF 71.
Practical
Drying berths on sand and small pontoon facilities. No fuel berth on site. Shops, bakery and supermarket in Plouescat village within walking distance.
Ashore
Sandy beaches of Pors Meur and Porsguen within 2 km of the port. Coastal path GR34 passes along the bay. Plouescat covered market hall dating from the 16th century stands in the village centre about 1.5 km inland.
