Approach and anchoring
Approach from the west, watching for the rocks off the north shore of the island. Sand bottom with good holding. Sheltered from NE, E, S and SE winds, exposed to the N and W.
Practical
No facilities at the beach. Port de Saint-Gildas, the small harbour of Houat, lies 1.6 NM to the E with water, bins and a shop in the village. Port de l'Argol on Île d'Hoedic sits 5.8 NM to the SE.
Ashore
The beach runs for about 1 km of white sand. Houat village, with two bakeries, a small supermarket and the island church, is roughly 2 km east on foot across the island. The whole island is part of the Natura 2000 Mor Braz site.
