Approach and anchoring
Open roadstead, sand bottom with good holding. Sheltered from NW, N and W, so usable under a tramontane if you tuck in close to the shore. Fully exposed to the marin from SE and to southerly swell. Approach on sight, no hazards offshore. Keep clear of the bathing zone buoys in season.
Practical
No facilities ashore on the beach itself. Pole Nautique Gruissan lies 1.1 NM to the NE and Gruissan Port-à-sec 1.5 NM to the N for water, fuel and supplies.
Ashore
Long sand strip backed by the Massif de la Clape regional nature reserve. The salt works of Gruissan, Salins de l'Île Saint-Martin, are inland to the N, with a visitor centre and direct sales of fleur de sel.
