Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sand bottom, good holding. Shelter from the S, SW and W sectors only. Exposed to the tramontane from NW and to easterly swell. Drop in 3 to 5 metres within reasonable distance of the beach, keeping clear of swimmers inside the marked zone in season.
Practical
No services at anchor. Port Leucate 3.7 NM to the south and Port-la-Nouvelle 5.5 NM to the north cover fuel, water and shore berths.
Ashore
The village of La Franqui, 600 metres inland, has a small grocery, bakery and a few cafes open year-round. The beach itself is a known spot for kite surfing thanks to the steady tramontane. Writer Henry de Monfreid spent part of his childhood here and his former house is signposted.
