Approach and anchoring
Freshwater lake accessed from the Canal de Savières linking the lake to the Rhône at Chanaz. No tidal constraint. Holding on sand. Open to westerly winds funnelling down from the Dent du Chat ridge.
Practical
Port de plaisance du Bourget-du-Lac lies 1,4 milles to the west with visitor berths, water and fuel. Charpignat slipway is 1,5 milles to the west.
Ashore
Village of Le Bourget-du-Lac with shops and restaurants 1,5 km from the shore. Prieuré du Bourget-du-Lac, an 11th century Benedictine priory, on the lakefront. Abbaye royale de Hautecombe on the opposite western shore, burial place of the House of Savoy.
