Approach and anchoring
No tidal or coastal navigation. The lake is 18 km long and up to 145 m deep. Approach by the southern shore, watch for reeds and shallow banks near the Leysse delta. Six berths.

Six berths, water and electricity on the pontoon. Shops and restaurants in Le Bourget-du-Lac village, 500 m from the port. Sailing club on site.
Ashore
The Prieuré du Bourget, founded in the 11th century, stands 600 m from the port. Abbaye royale de Hautecombe, burial place of the House of Savoy including Umberto II, the last King of Italy, faces the port on the western shore and is reached in about 4 nm by boat. Aix-les-Bains thermal town sits 2.5 nm northeast.
History
Lamartine wrote the poem Le Lac here in 1817, commemorating his stay with Julie Charles on the lake shore. The poem is a canonical text of French Romanticism.
