Approach and anchoring
Weed bottom, holding is variable, test the anchor. Sheltered from SW, W and NW winds. The lake is prone to sudden vaudaire squalls from the south in summer afternoons, watch the sky over the Dent du Chat ridge.
Practical
No services at the mooring. Port du Bourget-du-Lac is within walking distance of the village with shops, cafés and the train station on the Lyon to Chambéry line.
Ashore
The Royal Priory of Le Bourget-du-Lac, founded in the 11th century by the counts of Savoy, stands in the village 800 m from the shore. The GR 9 hiking trail climbs the Dent du Chat above the lake. Hautecombe Abbey, burial site of the House of Savoy, sits on the opposite shore and is reachable by lake shuttle.
