Approach and anchoring
The harbour lies at the western end of Eggemoggin Reach, one of the more sheltered passages of Penobscot Bay. Approach is straightforward from the Reach, with deep water carried into the harbour.
Practical
Buck's Harbor Marina keeps over 30 transient moorings, among the larger mooring fields in Penobscot Bay. Fuel berth supplies diesel and non-ethanol petrol. Showers, one indoor and one outdoor, and coin-operated laundry are open to mooring guests.
History
The marina has long worked the Reach as a yard and charter base for cruising boats heading down east.
