Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Merrimack River entrance, where shoaling shifts and a strong tidal current runs through the channel. The basin lies on the south bank below town. VHF used by the harbour office for berth allocation.
Practical
225 berths taking boats up to 60 feet, with summer and winter land storage for around 125 boats. Part of the four-site Newburyport Marinas group, which adds full-service yard work and chandlery access.
Ashore
Newburyport town centre is about 1.5 miles upriver, with shops, restaurants and a market square. The Clipper City Rail Trail runs from the waterfront for walking and cycling.
