Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south in fair weather, the coast is low and lined with drying sand banks, stay in at least 3 metres at low water of spring tides. Sand bottom, good holding. Shelter from winds from NW through N to E, exposed to any southerly.
Practical
No services at the mooring. Port de Jard-sur-Mer is 2,2 NM west, a drying harbour reached through a buoyed channel with 280 berths, diesel and water. Port Bourgenay is 6,6 NM west with a lock-controlled marina of 640 berths.
Ashore
The Pointe du Payré natural reserve lies immediately east of the mooring, a protected dune and forest site managed by the Conservatoire du littoral with a 6 km loop trail. The GR 364 coast path reaches the village of Jard-sur-Mer in 3 km, with shops, bakery and a Tuesday and Saturday market.
