Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south-west. Rocky bottom with variable holding, use a trip line. Shelter from NE and E winds only; move inside Port Bourgenay if the wind backs south or west. Marina entrance lit and dredged.
Practical
Port Bourgenay marina at 0.4 NM NW has 650 berths, fuel, water and electricity. Jard-sur-Mer drying harbour 4.1 NM SE as a secondary option.
Ashore
Sandy beach of Veillon 1.5 km west, backed by pine forest and a protected dune system. Coastal path to the Pointe du Payré estuary nature reserve 3 km west. Talmont-Saint-Hilaire village 5 km inland with a medieval keep linked to Richard the Lionheart.
