Guide
Approach and anchoring
Clear approach from the south across the Pertuis Breton. Sand bottom, holding good. Shelter from N, NE and E; fully exposed to the prevailing W and SW winds, untenable under Atlantic swell.
Practical
No facilities at the beach. Jard-sur-Mer 5.3 NM NW is a tidal harbour with limited visitor berths. Port de l'Aiguillon 7.1 NM east offers a larger fishing and leisure harbour at the mouth of the Lay river.
Ashore
Beach of 2 km of fine sand with surf schools in season. Village of La Tranche-sur-Mer 1.5 km inland with supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants. Forêt domaniale de Longeville begins at the west end of the beach, with a signed cycling route toward Jard-sur-Mer.
