Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the west on a sand shelf that shoals gently toward the beach. Drop over clean sand clear of bathing zones marked in season by yellow buoys. Holding is good in sand. Exposed to W and SW swell from the Bay of Biscay; only workable in settled N to SE winds.

Practical

No moorings or shore services at the anchorage. Use the tender to land on the beach. Jard-sur-Mer harbour lies 4.3 NM NW and Port de l'Aiguillon 7.8 NM E for full refuge, fuel and provisioning.
