Approach and anchoring
Enter Morro Bay between the breakwaters at Morro Rock and follow the dredged channel south past the Embarcadero for about 1.5 nautical miles. The marina sits on the east shore at 495 Embarcadero. Listening watch on VHF 12 with Morro Bay Harbor Patrol. The southern bay shoals quickly outside the channel.
Practical
18 berths for boats from 7.5 to 12 metres plus 14 mooring buoys. Water and shore power on the pontoons, public heads and washdown, fuel berth with petrol and diesel, bait shop. Launch ramp on site. Kayak, paddleboard and small motor boat rentals. Office on 495 Embarcadero, phone 805 772 7434.
Ashore
Morro Bay State Park surrounds the marina with the heron and cormorant rookery 500 m north, established in 1973 in a stand of eucalyptus. Museum of Natural History 300 m north on White Point. Park golf course, campground and the Black Hill walking trail with views of the bay and the Nine Sisters volcanic chain start at the marina car park.
