Full-service marina on the east bank of the St Johns River in the Mandarin district of southern Jacksonville, Florida. Now also known as Windward Andreu Marina.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

Lies on the broad St Johns River off San Jose Boulevard, State Road 13. The river is wide and deep here with no tidal lock. The basin gives shelter from open-river fetch.

Practical

159 berths with a 15-ton travel lift. Fuel berth supplies diesel and 89-octane petrol. Restrooms, showers, pump-out and a ship store on site. A restaurant and snack shop operate at the marina.

Ashore

The Mandarin Museum and the historic marker for Harriet Beecher Stowe's former home are a short distance away in the Mandarin district. Provisioning is available along San Jose Boulevard.

History

The Mandarin area was the winter home of author Harriet Beecher Stowe from 1867 to 1884. She bought a cottage and a 30-acre orange grove on a bluff overlooking the St Johns, and wrote her novel Oldtown Folks during her time there.
