Approach and anchoring
Enter the Lorient roadstead by the main pass between Port-Louis citadel and Larmor-Plage, buoyed and lit day and night. Follow the Ter channel to the Keroman basin. Maximum draught 3 m. VHF channel 9 for the harbour master. Strong tidal streams in the pass at springs.
Practical
Water, electricity on pontoons, fuel berth, showers and toilets. Lorient Keroman yard on site handles lifts up to 100 tonnes. Buses to Lorient town centre, about 1.5 km away.
Ashore
The Keroman submarine base, built by the Kriegsmarine between 1941 and 1943, now houses the Cité de la Voile Éric Tabarly and the submarine Flore-S645 opened as a museum. The Sailing Valley cluster gathers Ultim trimaran teams and ocean racing stables on the site. Lorient hosts the Festival Interceltique each August.
