Approach and anchoring

Lies due south-west of Sandy Hook and is reached via the Sandy Hook Bay at Leonardo federal channel, dredged and marked. Sandy Hook and the New York Harbor approaches open directly off the bay.

Practical

About 175 berths rented year-round, 30, 40 and 50 feet, taking craft up to 50 feet. Transient berths by arrangement with the office. Dry storage, a public launch ramp, 30-amp shore power, water, pump-out, showers and ice.

Ashore

A small nature centre on site keeps live animals and runs interpretive programmes. The Gateway National Recreation Area Sandy Hook Unit, with its ocean beaches and Fort Hancock, lies a short run across the bay.
