Guide
Approach and anchoring
Entry from the south-east between two short moles, red and green lights. Approach straightforward in settled weather, avoid with mistral from NW which sets up a heavy swell at the entrance. No night entry for visitors unfamiliar with the coast. VHF 9.
Practical
Pontoon berths mostly held by locals, a few visitor spots in summer. Water and electricity on the pontoons. No fuel berth, nearest diesel at Carry-le-Rouet harbour 1.7 km west. Small chandlery and hull work available in Carry.
Ashore
Côte Bleue marine park boundary starts just offshore, protected zone with no anchoring and no fishing. Calanque des Eaux Salées for snorkelling 500 m east on foot. Carry-le-Rouet town centre and TER station for Marseille 1.5 km by the coastal path.
History
The Côte Bleue marine park was established in 1983 and is one of the oldest managed marine areas in Provence. Carry-le-Rouet itself grew as a sea-bathing resort after the PLM railway reached the village in 1915.
