- Harbour
Small harbour on the west bank of the Rance estuary between Dinard and Saint-Malo, in the tidal river upstream of the Rance tidal power station.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Access through the Rance lock at La Richardais, operated on a published schedule linked to water levels. Once upstream, follow the buoyed channel, mind the strong currents near the power station. Moorings on fore and aft trots aligned with the current.
Practical
Mainly swinging and trot moorings managed by the local association. Water and slipway ashore. Chandlers and full services are found downstream at Saint-Malo and Dinard.
Ashore
Former shipyard village with a heritage trail along the old slipways used for tall ships in the nineteenth century. GR 34 coastal path passes through the village. Saint-Suliac, listed among the Plus Beaux Villages de France, lies 1.4 NM east across the river.
History
Le Minihic and the neighbouring hamlet of La Landriais were active shipbuilding sites in the nineteenth century. Several long-haul square-riggers were launched from the slipways along this bank of the Rance before the yards closed around 1900.
