Approach and anchoring
Enter via the Lorient roadstead and head up the Blavet above the Pen-Mané spit. Channel marked by lateral buoys up to the Bonhomme lock. Watch the ebb current on springs, which runs up to 3 knots. Water point on the Pen-Mané pontoon 1.9 nm to the SW.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no services on site. Lorient Centre marina is 1.9 nm to the SW for berths, fuel and chandlery. Pen-Mané pontoon provides fresh water.
Ashore
Riverside path along the Blavet towards Hennebont, 8 km upstream, with its medieval ramparts and Notre-Dame-du-Paradis basilica. Submarine base museum at Keroman 3 km to the south by road.
