Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Bassin d'Arcachon through the passes, then follow the buoyed channel along the Cap Ferret shore. Approach at slack water to avoid strong tidal streams in the main channel. Anchorage lies just NE of the small port of La Vigne. Shelter from SW, W and NW winds; exposed to E and NE.
Practical
Swing at anchor on sand. Port de la Vigne lies 0.2 NM to the SW for water and a slip ashore by dinghy. Le Canon lies 1.3 NM to the N for a second mooring option. No services at the anchorage itself.
Ashore
Oyster village of La Vigne with oyster shacks serving on the quay, a few minutes on foot. Plage du Mimbeau sandspit on the inner bay at 1 km. Phare du Cap Ferret lighthouse 2,5 km to the S, open to visitors from spring to autumn.
