Approach and anchoring
Inside the Bassin d'Arcachon after the Passes. Follow the buoyed channel along the Ferret shore. Strong tidal streams up to 3 knots at springs, drying sandbanks shift, refer to the latest SHOM chart. Anchor on sand clear of the oyster beds staked with white pignots.
Practical
Anchoring only, no services on site. Port de la Vigne 0.4 NM north with a tidal entrance, Le Canon oyster port 1.9 NM north. Shops and fuel at Cap Ferret village a short dinghy ride away.
Ashore
Phare du Cap Ferret at the tip of the peninsula, 53 m, climbable for a view over the Bassin and the Dune du Pilat. Atlantic beach on the ocean side, 400 to 600 m across the dune. Oyster huts of L'Herbe village 1.5 NM north along the inner shore.
