Approach and anchoring
Access via the buoyed channels of the Bassin d'Arcachon. The anchorage dries partially at low water of spring tides and the tidal range reaches 4 metres, so check the tide tables before setting the anchor. The Club Nautique de Claouey lies 1.8 NM to the NE and Le Canon 1.9 NM to the SW.
Practical
Forain anchorage with sand holding. No services on site. Water taxi and shops available at Claouey and Le Canon. Strong tidal currents run in the Bassin, so allow enough scope and check the swing at the turn of the tide.
Ashore
Oyster villages of Le Canon and L'Herbe within 2 km along the shore path, with oyster shacks serving Arcachon cuvée oysters. Cycle path of the Vélodyssée runs the length of the Cap-Ferret peninsula and passes within 500 m of the anchorage.
