Approach and anchoring
Approach from seaward on deep water. The rock rises steeply from around 50 m to just under the surface, stay clear of the pinnacle when anchoring. Drop on rock on the NE side where the park provides seasonal mooring buoys reserved for dive boats. Sheltered from NE only, open to every other direction.
Practical
No shore facilities. Nearest marina Le Brusc 2 nm NW with water, diesel, 800 berths, and Port Saint-Pierre des Embiez 2.7 nm NW.
Ashore
The Embiez islands belong to the Paul Ricard oceanographic institute, with a small marine museum and aquarium at Port Saint-Pierre. Coastal footpaths circle the main island in about 2 hours.

La Pierre de l'Autel is one of the most visited dive sites of the Var coast, famous for its forest of red gorgonians below 25 m.
