Approach and anchoring
The basin dries almost completely at low water, with a declared maximum draught of 0.22 m. Approach only near high water via the marked channels of the Bassin d'Arcachon. Deep-keel yachts cannot enter.
Practical
450 berths, mostly for local craft adapted to drying out. Water on the quay. No fuel on site. Shops of La Hume and the SNCF halt within walking distance. Neighbouring Port de Meyran 0.8 nm east for larger boats.
Ashore
Plage de La Hume, a tidal sand beach, lies directly north of the harbour. Parc de loisirs de La Hume sits on the foreshore with seasonal activities for children. Dune du Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe at 106 m, is reachable by road 15 km west.
