Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east or west, leaving the island to port or starboard. Anchor on the north or south side depending on wind, in 5 to 12 m on sand, rock and posidonia. Holding irregular on weed and rock, check the set. Protected from N and S depending on the side chosen, exposed to E and SE. Cap du Dramont and the Lion de Mer cardinal lie 300 m NE, keep clear.
Practical
No services on the island. Nearest fuel and water at Port d'Agay, 1.2 NM NE, or Port du Poussaï, 0.2 NM NE.
Ashore
Landing on the island is forbidden, the property is private. Red porphyry cliffs of the Esterel massif at Le Dramont opposite, with the coastal path of Cap du Dramont and the 38th US Infantry Division memorial commemorating the Provence landings of 15 August 1944.
Story
The tower inspired Hergé for the Tintin album L'Île Noire published in 1938.
