Rock-bottom anchorage on the Esterel coast between Agay and Le Dramont, off the wartime concrete bunkers that give the spot its name, in the Var.

Approach and anchoring
Close-in anchorage off the red porphyry cliffs of the Esterel massif. Rock bottom, so pick a sand patch visible in clear water and check the set. Shelter from NW, W and SW off the land; open to E and SE. Port du Poussai 0.6 nm to the W, Port d'Agay 0.8 nm to the N.
Practical
Forain spot with no services. Agay village offers provisioning, a small marina with water and fuel, and restaurants along the bay.
Ashore
The Ile d'Or with its crenellated tower lies just offshore at Le Dramont. The Dramont memorial marks the landing of the US 36th Infantry Division on 15 August 1944. The coastal path of the Esterel runs along the cliffs towards the Cap du Dramont semaphore.
History
The concrete blockhouses above the cove date from the German Mediterranean Wall of 1942 to 1944 and faced the Allied landings of Provence in August 1944.
