Town-owned wharf and park on inner Sippican Harbour at Marion, Massachusetts, on the north shore of Buzzards Bay.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sippican Harbour is entered between Bird Island, with its lighthouse, and Converse Point, with Ram Island sheltering the entrance. A marked anchorage lies just north of Ram Island; anchoring elsewhere needs harbourmaster approval.
Practical
Wharf slips and dinghy storage can be bought for the season. A sandy ramp beside the wharf serves boats launching into the harbour. A grassed lawn runs alongside the docks. Marion's Maritime Centre at the wharf houses the harbourmaster's office.
History
Marion was named after the Revolutionary War officer Francis Marion. The Beverly Yacht Club once stood on this wharf before moving to Water Street in 1955.
