Day anchorage off the eastern shore of the Quiberon peninsula in southern Brittany, between Port-Haliguen and Port-Maria.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Baie de Quiberon on the sheltered side of the peninsula. Mixed sand and rock bottom, so drop over clear sand patches and check holding before leaving the boat. Open to winds from S and SW. In fresh westerlies the peninsula itself provides a lee, but any shift to the southern sector builds a short swell.
Practical
No facilities. Day use only. Port-Haliguen marina lies 1.9 nm NW with fuel, water, chandlery and full services, and Port Maria at 2.5 nm W handles the Belle-Île ferry traffic.
Ashore
Landing by tender on the nearby beaches of the Côte Sauvage side is possible in calm weather. The GR 340 coastal path runs the length of the peninsula. Quiberon town centre with shops, markets and the SNCF tire-bouchon train terminus is within walking distance of Port Maria.
